How to Start your Wedding Guest List
Real Wedding Planner Advice from NH Wedding Planners at Lisa Sammons Events
Number 1 and first on the wedding planning list – right after you get engaged….You’ll need a guest list (with addresses).
We know what you are thinking… Why now? …..”we are 2 years away from our wedding date!” The reason you need to have your guest list is this will determine what size venue you need.
You’ll also need it for announcements, invitations, RSVP’s, Thank You notes and more!
This is something you want to complete early, it’s a bear of a project.
Get it out of the way, start to finish with addresses…..
It’s a tool that you will need to refer to from engagement and will use it throughout your married life together. You can always add or delete names throughout the next 18 months, but it’s important to have a good starting point. Without it, you can not shop book a wedding venue properly.
Here’s why another reason you need your guest list now:
In order to suit your vision and needs, you’ll need to determine how many guests you will invite to your wedding.
Coveted venues book out at least 18 months prior to your desired date.
Venues have room & space capacities, so in order to determine whether they can accommodate you, you’ll need to know how many guests you will invite prior to your venue shopping.
You may already know you want a Fall wedding for example, which is great! This helps narrow down your venue search and find the best fit for your wedding day.
