“Mint” is certainly on trend in the wedding world for the last couple years, in whatever fabric you choose. The J.Crew bridesmaid line is fabulous and as you can see just from the above Style,Inspiration, & Design collage above, just choosing a particular fabric will automatically mark the feel for your wedding. Traditional-Elegant, choose a Silk Duponi fabric for your bridesmaid dresses or for more country chic, choose muted fabrics with understated detail.
Mint works in any wedding “style”.
With Mint being so trendy the last few years, of course it has had to reinvent itself as a color many times to keep it unique and to satisfy customers as a color! So today we’ll give examples of Mint which has some cool-icy blue undertones. And of course we’ll write about Mint again since there are so many subtle shades of Mint in the spectrum.
Starting off with a bright Cool Mint paired with Coral-hued bouquet and silver peep-toe heels. We were able to add a little texture in the way of sparkle to the shoes as although the dress has movement, the draping is subtle enough to add a little more texture to the overall look.
Real Wedding Planner Advice & Style Tip: Keeping your dress simplified in design allows for more movement and texture in your bridesmaids’ accessories.
Same exact thought process with the dress vs. shoes and bouquet. Keeping the lines in the dress simple, allows for the addition of texture in the shoe and pop of color in the bridesmaid bouquet.
Love this skater-style bridesmaid dress! And the fire engine red accessories are a fun way to add color to your wedding day. As there is more movement in the dress design, we chose a Christian Louboutin Red Shoe to keep the look clean and contemporary.
How comfy will your bridesmaids be in this dress on your wedding day? Such a sweet and simple dress, but lovely and elegant just the same. Adding a sparkly contemporary shoe and soft muted bouquet in the same tones as the dress is an easy choice.
Worried about strapless dresses for your bridesmaids?
Real Wedding Planner Advice: Choose a halter top neckline and bodice. It’s elegant and traditional, and very also speaks to vintage…Adding the right accessories to note your wedding theme will make the ensemble match whatever wedding “look” you are going for. In this Style, Inspiration, & Design collage we kept it simple and traditional Adding a traditional pump is the smart choice with this dress and bridesmaid bouquet, as it does not compete with textures in the ensemble.
Is your look more edgy and contemporary…?
Not a problem, choose your dress in a contemporary style for your bridesmaids.
Real Wedding Planner Advice and Style Tip: If you choose a dress with texture, even if it is muted as in the above Style, Inspiration, & Design collage, it’s okay to still use texture in your accessories… but choose wisely. Using the above collage as example, although the shoe has the cute trio of maryjane buckles added to it, the overall style of the shoe is simplified and the color is muted, so it works. For the heavily textured hydrangea bouquet, remember to keep it all in 1 solid color and if you can, all in the same flower. In this case, it mirrors the dress’ subtle textured fabric beautifully.
Staying with the contemporary look for a moment – all the same rules apply. Simplicity in the dress allows for texture and color “pop” in th accessories. How gorgeous would this look be for a summer wedding?!!
Taking the same dress and making the look more “edgy” is easy with the right accessories.
Real Wedding Planner Advice & Style Tip: Add a contemporary heel along with darker hued bridesmaid bouquet in burnt orange is beautiful! The ensemble is still elegant, traditional, and very appropriate.
This last bridesmaid ensemble is all about texture and elegance. Lisa Sammons Events recently had a “bling-y” bride that loved her sparkle and accessories, so we found this fabulous vintage-styled dress with just the amount of lace and bling for this girly-girl!
Adding the minty (& Sparkly!) Alice + Olivia Larimore Platform Pump was easy and the bridesmaids loved wearing them (and they were comfortable too!) The lovely mixed pink floral bouquet had quite a lot of texture in it, but we brought a swatch of the dress to them, and they were able to mirror the overall dress texture in the bridesmaid bouquet. So beautiful!!
No matter what shade of Mint you choose it will be perfect and certainly on trend!
