Newly Engaged-When to start a new exercise plan
Now is the perfect time to start a new excercise regime!
Real Wedding Planner Advice: by NH Wedding Planners at Lisa Sammons Events
Many Brides & Grooms find getting engaged is great time to start a new Health & Exercise regime. It’s naturally the start of the next chapter of their life together, and what better way to start it off together by a commitment to health and fitness.
Today’s Brides & Grooms (and their bridal party) know that it’s not just about finding the right dress, suits, the best hair stylist, or the right makeup, it starts with a renewed commitment to Health & Bridal Fitness.
Real Wedding Planner Advice: Adding a personal trainer & starting a weekly exercise regime to your “to do” list is the best way to start. Looking your absolute best on your wedding day is great motivation to start a new exercise regime for Brides & Grooms. It’s also the best time to start leading a healthier lifestyle overall.
As you begin the transitional time of your life during the Engagement and Wedding Planning period, it’s a great time to start a NEW health and fitness routine so you start feeling good inside and out for the rest of your life!
And it works for everyone too, not just the Bride!
Whether you are a Bride, Bridesmaid, Mother of the Bride or just a wedding guest, we all like to get in shape before attending a wedding or a special event.
Real Wedding Planner Advice: Starting a new exercise program early on in the wedding planning process will help keep stress at bay, and help you look and feel great for your wedding. Establishing a good workout routine together is also a great way to keep positive and reduce stress.
Working out as a couple during your engagement and through to your married life together reserves a special allotted time that you can both focus on your combined health as an engaged couple too.
Our advice! Hire a certified personal trainer.
We went right to the source asked trusted (and certified) personal trainer Wendy Fillmore for her professional advice on how Brides can keep their fitness goals and workouts realistic before their wedding day. Ms. Fillmore agrees, a personal trainer’s advice can help you look and feel your best from Engagement straight through to your married life.
While everyone who starts an exercise program can benefit from some guidance, Ms. Fillmore believes that when it comes to bridal fitness, it is essential to get the right help with a personal trainer.
Ms. Fillmore really believes in doing it fitness right…. “When you are working with a specific window of time, you want to make sure you get the most out of your workouts, and that means making sure you’re doing them right. You also want to make sure you’re selecting the correct workouts for the look you want, and to achieve your goals in this specific window of time. Minimizing injury is also a consideration. Having a personal trainer will ensure you do not risk of injury by overtraining or by performing an exercise incorrectly”.
Ms. Filmore notes that the biggest mistakes brides and bridesmaids make is overtraining. They try to do do much too soon. Continuing to do too much too close to the wedding day can cause injury. Having a personal trainer to help you target your areas strategically and safely is key.
Real Planner Advice: Don’t plan to put yourself on a crash diet with just weeks before the wedding. It’s not healthy. The result will affect the way you will look on your wedding day. Your skin, hair, and overall “look” will not be what you want. You want to look healthy and have that “bridal glow” on your wedding day. This comes with a healthy lifestyle and a commitment to exercise and clean living.
A personal trainer will help you improve your shape and muscle tone…and maintain it long after your wedding. You will want to keep looking good for each other after you are married too! ….It’s not just about your wedding “day”. Here’s another bonus about having a personal trainer… they “TRAIN” you to learn exercises properly.
So when you travel (like on your honeymoon!!) you can keep up your healthy routine so you don’t have to play catch up after you get back from your trip. And since your personal trainer has “trained” you how to do your exercises properly, you won’t run the risk of injuring yourself on your honeymoon and missing out on the fun of your trip!
Another thing to note is… speaking of honeymoon… don’t you want to be in shape for that too? And we’re not trying to be fresh here… (but certainly take that subtle note into consideration 🙂 ) Trendy married couples are booking trips to beautiful locations like Hawaii, not just to lay on the beach all day… but to go exploring, hiking, para-sailing, biking, and sailing. Working with a personal trainer will help you be IN SHAPE for these activities so you are not exhausted by the end of your day of adventure (and it will give you more energy at night too… wink wink)
Even if you just want to kick it up a notch before your wedding, having a personal trainer will help you strengthen and tone key muscles. You will stand taller, you’ll have more energy and you will feel great! And BONUS!! ….your gown will definitely fit and look better on you if you are fit and healthy.
