What to wear to your Wedding Rehearsal – Dinner & Welcome Party – Brides – Part I
Wondering what to wear to your rehearsal dinner and welcome party?
Many brides choose a cute little white dress of course, and some after months of planning with their wedding colors, choose a dress in their wedding color spectrum… afterall…you are already wearing white on your wedding day!
For this article, we’ve put together some bride-to-be looks with the LWD (little white dress) but we’ll make this a series with more color so check back soon for Part II.
There are no rules here, but of course you are the Bride to-be, so something modest is appropriate. This contemporary dress design is simply lovely for the traditional “wedding” colors of white and silver. We chose a pair of silver metallic strappy sandals to
We love the little white dresses that are out there right now, but if you are feeling like you want a little pop of color on your wedding weekend, then why not choose from your colors! All your girls might be in navy on your wedding day, so 9 times out of 10 they will not be wearing that color to your rehearsal night festivities. Great choice and since your bridal party will be wearing “your” wedding color on your wedding day, it’s safe to say you’ll be the only one wearing that color out of your bridal party for the evening!
Some other factors…. think of course what your activity is going to be that evening. Many know they will be having a traditional rehearsal dinner with their bridal party and immediate family directly after your wedding rehearsal. With the etiquette now being the Groom’s family must (should) entertain all incoming out of town guests coming in the night before the wedding… now you have the obligatory “welcome party” to consider. Think about your footwear the night before your wedding…. be comfortable… your next day of events (your wedding day!) will be a long day in your Christian Louboutin’s so be kind to yourself (and your feet! :))
If you don’t have to worry about an activity like a lot of walking, or a sunset cruise, wear your predominant wedding color in a pair of strappy sandals & accessories for a pop of color in your rehearsal night outfit.
For spring and summer, a sweet little linen dress is the perfect choice.
Real Wedding Planner Advice: Use your wedding clutch on your rehearsal night. You won’t have to worry about forgetting to change bags on your wedding day. And now is the time to use that fabulous jeweled bag you want to get some use out of before your wedding day! Choose a traditional pair of pumps in your wedding color to accentuate your look.
If you are wearing a body-conscious dress on your wedding day, choose comfort for your rehearsal party! This pretty white dress has a splash of color and an interesting design making it not only comfortable but trendy as well. Add a pair of gold Jimmy Choo strappy sandals to complete the look with a coordinating metallic gold clutch.
Is your wedding-style country rustic? Are you jealous of your bridesmaids wearing cowboy boots on your wedding day while you are in your Badgley Mischkas? 🙂
Wear your cowboy boots on your rehearsal night! Paired with a pretty country-style ruffled sundress in white is lovely. For this look we choice a teal bag to pick up the accents in the cowboy boots.
There are also short wedding dresses to choose from for your rehearsal night! If your budget allows, this Armani lace sweetheart neckline dress would be perfect. If you are watching your budget, check ModCloth.com for little white lace dresses, they are a great resource. For this sweet and traditional lace dress, we recommend adding a pair of contemporary strappy sandals and clutch in coordinating colors. If you decide to wear a “wedding” dress look on your rehearsal night, give it a little edge with your accessories and have some fun with it!

Love this traditional look. Sand Jimmy Choo pumps match the belt on this pretty lace v-neck dress. We added a muted gold-blinged clutch to blend in with the sand colored Jimmy Choos and to mirror the texture in the lace dress.
Back to Country-Rustic-Vintage! Love this cute linen-lace dress – and just image how comfortable you will be at your rehearsal and your rehearsal party, especially when you pair your dress with cowboy boots!
There is no reason you can’t be stylish and still be comfortable too! This baby doll dress is our favorite look! We chose the lace-patterned peep-toe pumps to mirror lace in the dress. The neutral-beige shoes will naturally elongate your legs … and this look works for all body-types!!
