Pinks, Oranges, & Yellows does not mean your wedding style has to be ultra-traditional. Darker hues can add a contemporary feel and gives a beautiful design base of any wedding. Choosing any shade of Pink, Orange, or Yellow for your bridesmaid dresses will work in any length and season, adding instant elegance, especially in traditional “wedding” fabrics. If you are looking for a brighter Pink, Orange, or Yellow hue for your bridesmaid dresses, keep reading! We have several different “shades” included in this article. We also have a Real Wedding we (Lisa Sammons Events) planned & designed in beautiful orange-y pink – coral in our archives here to show you how you can use all 3 colors together!
Starting off on the softer, pale hues of pink for wedding colors and bridesmaid dresses…here is a simple traditional-styled bridesmaid look that would work in fall, winter, spring, or summer!
Choosing a dress in traditional wedding fabric like chiffon, silk duponi, or linen is lovely and traditional. This trendy strapless asymetrical dress in chiffon makes this bridesmaid ensemble “look” more the towards the contemporary side!
Real Wedding Planner Advice: When choosing a dress with a patterned or textured fabric, remember to choose a shoe that will compliment the dress. A shoe with little or no embellishments would work best, or a shoe that mirrors the texture of your dress’ design as illustrated in the above Style, Inspiration, & Design collage.
Real Wedding Planner Advice: If you want to choose a shoe with “texture”, try to mirror the texture in the dress’ fabric & design, remember to choose a shoe that will compliment the dress,. Your shoe choice can still be a “statement” design piece, but try to choose a shoe all in one color, preferably a muted tone would work best.
If your vision is to keep the look “simply romantic” as illustrated in the above LSE bridesmaid dress design board, it’s easy to just add a simple metallic shoe to carry on the elegant feel created by the dress design & fabrics – remember to keep it simple..
Real Wedding Planner Style Tip: Keep the shoes in a muted complimentary color,,,
… and introduce the bright “Pop” of color in the bridesmaid bouquet. Using a traditional dress and shoe style, and adding a contemporary bouquets brings the look forward and on trend, even with a traditional choice in style of bridesmaid dress. If your look is more country-rustic, soften up the colors of your bouquet …especially when choosing a bridesmaid dress with textured fabric & design.
For “country” – style brides, another alternative to the obligatory “cowboy boots” for your bridesmaids is to change your “look” to “Contemporary Country” by simply by pairing a more casual dress design and a simplified shoe with a “country-style” wildflower mixed floral bouquet – Perfection!!
If you want to bring your traditional chiffon bridesmaid dress look forward and more on trend, choose a heel in a complimentary color to your bridesmaids dress and have your bridesmaids’ shoe be the “pop” of color in their ensemble. Remember to coordinate your bridesmaids’ bouquets into this look to give the look anchor and so it doesn’t overwhelm your style-eye.
Choosing a “bright” color for your bridesmaids dresses still gives you some room for “style” in your bridesmaids’ ensemble. You can choose a stylized shoe, but remember to keep their look all “pulled together” remember to choose a muted finish in a metallic for your bridesmaids’ shoe to give anchor to their look.
