What Wedding Planners Do ~ Part 1
An inside look from New England & New York wedding planners at Lisa Sammons Events.
What does a Wedding Planner Do?
What to expect from your wedding planner and why they are important to any size wedding – from a traditionally-sized wedding ….
…to smaller weddings & elopements ….
It is important for engaged couples to know what to expect from your wedding planner. Wedding planning businesses and services vary from business to business, just as all businesses do (retail, doctors’ offices, restaurants, hotels, etc).
Real Wedding Planner Advice: Do your homework before, during, and after shopping.
Here’s how the wedding planning process begins at Lisa Sammons Events:
New England & New York Wedding planners at Lisa Sammons Events start their process with engaged couples with an initial phone meeting after they receive an inquiry from their perspective clients. Our commitment to response time is within 48 hours of the inquiry.
After the initial phone meeting, a meet and greet meeting is scheduled to get additional information about your wedding events & the bride & groom’s needs (and wants!).
The in-person meeting is scheduled so your wedding planner (LSE) has the opportunity to listen and understand your events, not just the wedding day itself, but also the rehearsal dinner/welcome party, wedding day prelude (getting ready time plans), post-wedding day brunches and any other wedding related events you are planning on scheduling.
During this meeting your overall budget is discussed and reviewed in general. In addition, we listen to the B&G’s description of their wedding vision and get a good understanding of the bride and groom’s style, colors, and taste, as well as any food preferences that the couple may want for their wedding reception and wedding related events.
“What have you done so far” is also discussed, so we, as wedding planners can pick up the ball from that point and move forward with the planning and management for you.
After the in-person meeting, your wedding planner proposes how they can help based on the individual couple’s needs for their wedding and then creates a contract for the booking our services.
