How to Find Wedding Decor at a bargain
Wondering how to find wedding decor at a bargain like wedding planning pros do?
Part of being a good and ethical wedding planner is keeping costs down for our clients. We start of course with the necessities – Tents, rentals, Venue site fees, Photographers, Entertainment and Caterers – negotiating on our clients’ behalf to get the best prices.
When we are a in a good place to start with decor and details for our clients’ weddings, we have many (secret) sources that we return to based on the clients wants/needs and wedding style.
Whether it be country-rustic-vintage or traditional-elegance for our clients decor, we always turn first to Olde Towne Antiques in Stratham, NH. (even if we are planning a wedding in Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, New York, or New Hampshire!)
Olde Town Antiques is a multi-dealer antique and collectibles shop which carries a wide array of wonderful vintage, antique and collectible items.
From wooden crates, to antique bottles, to adorable china plates, we can always find the perfect accent to add to our wedding clients’ decor.
And the key is… at a bargain. The prices are amazing at Olde Towne Antiques. They get it. And they also have a frequent buyer card! Ask them about it!
Trendy vintage luggage, depression glass, linens, all work for gift table props, dessert tables, and guest dinner tables too!
Even just browsing through antique shops will give you ideas if your wedding style is country-rustic-vintage! There are so many fun twists and details you can add to really make your wedding decor individually yours and special.
You can even find the perfect “wrap” to go with your wedding dress, or or… amazing clothing accessory for your wedding ensemble – a gorgeous coat, wrap, vintage gloves, facinator…..
Musical instruments, pieces of art….
little boxes with drawers are always a cute detail …
no detail is too small… (love these vintage spools of thread!)
How do you use your antique treasurers you ask? Here’s a fabulous restored antique cash register we used on a wedding bar at tented wedding last year. Perfect for bartenders’ tips!
Antique trunk and birdcage for gift area…
All of these items are from our sourcing trips – just a little side table to fill up a quiet corner of a tented wedding from the fall, to amplify the mood and theme of the wedding decor…
Our clients’ loved antiquing, so this one was easy… this “station” was designed for the “gents” Cigars, Scotch, Bourbon, and Tequila area, just for groomsmen and their male counterparts….
For the ladies, a repurposed piece of furniture, painted ivory and filled with goodies to fill guest gift bags. Complete with candy station and antique scale of course!
And you don’t have to go overboard with the details, you can keep it simple. Another repurposed and painted piece of furniture makes up this dessert/cake table. Again painted ivory, and simply added a vintage cake stand and matching cake knife and spatula.
Let the desserts do the talking with country-vintage look – these home-made cakes added to the vintage cake station look.
The fabulous vintage limoge (china) and antique champagne coupes and vintage lace runners were the base of the design for LSE’s vintage-country wedding last year.
So shhh… there’s 1 of our secret sources for you… and make sure you mention LSE when you stop in ! If you don’t see what you are looking for on the first visit, be sure to stop again and again, Olde Town Antiques has so many wonderful antique dealers and they change their inventory weekly! *here’s their facebook page for new updates too!
