Maine Waterfront Wedding – Part 2 – Details & the Day!

We couldn’t have asked for a better weather day on July 15th for our clients’ Maine Waterfront wedding. Nice cool sea breeze and the sun was shining all day!

In the above pic, starting with ceremony details, note the birch-tree arbor the bride’s grandfather made!

Simple with just a touch of flowers in the bride’s “peach” & sage green…

….keeping the addition of the florals simplified in the installation to show off the bride’s grandfather’s beautiful work and attention to detail in his handmade arbor.

The cutest ring-bearer !! Complete with bow-tie and suspenders to match the groom (his uncle Ben) of course!

Adorable!

The bride chose to have a lobster trap for her cards on her gift table, a note to this private site in Maine…

…which had a beautiful backdrop of lobster boats and buoys.

The bride designed and printed ceremony programs for the guests – beautifully done!

The bride & groom wanted a cocktail party style wedding with small cafe tables & chairs with tall cocktail tables throughout the site. We dressed them with ivory linens, and the tables were topped off with antique boxes filled with fresh herbs.

This herb “box” is actually an old sewing machine table drawer! For more on how to use antiques in your wedding details, click here for sourcing from East Coast Props & Antiques

The guests had a lot of fun with the B&G’s DIY photobooth (frame courtesy of East Coast Props & Antiques)

Being foodies, the B&G wanted something different outside of the “normal” wedding food – so they chose Paella with local shellfish which also gave a nod to the coastal theme of their wedding.

The “sweetest” dessert table – the mom’s and grandmother’s each baked (and individually packaged!!) their specialty cookie for the B&G’s dessert option. Needless to say, this table was empty at the end of the reception! (Yum)

The bride & groom’s wish for their wedding day was that all the guests would just relax and mingle throughout the reception, with very little structure post-ceremony (after a few formalities of course) …

Lawn games, intimate groups of seating and cocktail tables spread out over the wedding site engaged the guests to really enjoy the property.

Party time kicked up at sunset … and after dancing … the guests all adjourned to downtown Portsmouth, NH for a private after-party!
