Blues & Greens Let’s start with a little inspiration. The many subtle shades Green & Blue are all beautifully captured in this painting by Jean Moore below.
Greens & Blues tend to add a certain contemporary feel and gives a beautiful design base of any wedding. Choosing any shade of Green & Blue for your bridesmaid dresses will work in any length and season, adding instant elegance, especially in traditional “wedding” fabrics. If you are looking for a brighter Green, or deeper Blue hue for your bridesmaid dresses, keep reading! We have several different “Greens & Blues” included in this article. We also have a Real Wedding we (Lisa Sammons Events) planned & designed in Green & Blue in our archives here.
Starting off on the softer, pale hues of green and blues for wedding colors and bridesmaid dresses…
Pairing it with navy, blacks, grays, and browns/beige in Groomsmen attire is easy and beautiful! This Calvin Klein suit would work perfectly with any shade of green or blue bridesmaid dress.
Choosing a dress in traditional wedding fabric like chiffon, silk duponi, or linen is lovely and traditional. Or you could go for a classic cotton with a subtle pattern to the fabric as in this adorable dress from Modcloth.com This dress is would look great with flats or heels!
Real Wedding Planner Advice: When choosing a dress with a patterned or textured fabric, remember to choose a shoe that will compliment the dress. A shoe with little or no embellishments would work best.
Real Wedding Planner Advice: If you want to choose a shoe with “texture”, try to mirror the texture in the dress’ fabric & design, remember to choose a shoe that will compliment the dress,. Your shoe choice can still be a “statement” design piece, but try to choose a shoe all in one color, preferably a muted tone would work best.
If your vision is to keep the look “simply romantic” as illustrated in the above LSE bridesmaid dress design board, it’s easy to just add a simple metallic shoe to carry on the elegant feel created by the dress design & fabrics – remember to keep it simple..
Real Wedding Planner Style Tip: Keep the shoes in a muted complimentary color,,,
… and introduce the bright “Pop” of color in the bridesmaid bouquet. Using a traditional dress and shoe style, and adding a contemporary bouquets brings the look forward and on trend, even with a traditional choice in style of bridesmaid dress. If your look is more country-rustic, soften up the colors of your bouquet …especially when choosing a bridesmaid dress with textured fabric & design.
For all you Country-Rustic brides, we put together a cute bridesmaid look for you using this pretty ruffled blue sundress and a distressed paid of cowboy boots. Paired with a mixed floral bouquet is gorgeous!
